The acronym refers to the act of hacking the letters by a randomized code with the software. The typeface takes shape through a generative process. A code produces, in a random way, the number of lines composing each letter. Due to its generative nature, we are not able to control the result.
The project was born from the interpretation, by process, of a series of site-specific works by Caline Aoun, winner of Deutsche Bank’s Artist of the Year 2018-2019 in which fundamental concepts are the dispersion of matter by the cyclical process of the data circulation. The exhibition Caline Aoun. Seeing is believing, curated by Britta Faerber and Anne Palopoli, is hosted at MAXXI – National Museum of XXI Century Arts from September to November 2018.
