Di roccia, fuochi e avventure sotterranee exhibits the result of five photographic investigations commissioned at its construction sites by Ghella, an international company specializing in excavations and infrastructure projects. The photographic exhibition shows the works made by the photographers Fabio Barile, Andrea Botto, Marina Caneve, Alessandro Imbriaco and Francesco Neri.
Through the study of typographical black and white, solids and voids, and by the use of a strong justification of the text, the graphic design tries to visually recreate tunnels, cavities, extractions. A large “O” is located at the entrance. The section along the stairs, which introduces the entire exhibition, contains the processed datas of the company and has been designed to accompany the visitor to the upper floor by a graphic tunnel that goes upstairs. Five reams of posters are positioned in the center of the gallery with hosting all the texts of the room. The use of the brass on some displays links the graphic design to the exhibition design.
Curated by Alessandro Dandini de Sylva in collaboration with Ghella, and hosted by MAXXI – Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo from September 22, 2021 to November 14, 2021.
